November Maths Puzzle

Happy Birthday George Boole! Born 2nd November 1815, English mathematician who helped establish modern symbolic logic and whose algebra of logic, now called Boolean algebra, is basic to the design of digital computer circuits. His legacy was Boolean logic, a theory of mathematics in which all variables are either "true" or "false", or "on" or "off".

This month’s puzzle is inspired by true and false statements:

Inspector Simon Mart of Scotland Yard was looking at the interrogation statements of 3 well known criminals. It had already been established that one of them had stolen the Very First Roll of Sudoku Toilet Paper, which of course is an object of immense historical value. It also had already been established that of the three suspects, exactly one spoke the truth.

Who stole the toilet paper?

Hand your answer to your maths teacher or email  your answer by November 30th to Miss Teague (  A voucher redeemable at any shop in the Oracle will be awarded for the first correct answer drawn from the hat (many thanks for the kind sponsorship by Willink PTA).

Last month’s puzzle was won by Mrs Denheen, many congratulations to her!
